If you need a small loan and are unsure what a lender will review, check how your income, checking account and loan history fit the application requirements.
Before you share your details
Choose the concern that applies to you. Each answer points to what to check and what you can do next.
Start with the direct-route criteria. The FAQ says the direct application does not use the three major traditional bureaus, while the application details and prior loan history are subject to verification. If the request is matched, the Terms allow participating lenders to check credit or specialty databases.
Read who can obtain information, what they may check and when you authorize it. Read the matching terms.
Check what can be verified. The FAQ lists a job or proven income. If your pay changes, is seasonal or comes from a source other than an employer, ask which evidence is accepted before applying. Use the date you actually expect to be paid when evaluating repayment.
Ask about income documentationCompare your setup with the stated requirement. The FAQ lists a checking account in good standing with employer direct deposit. Confirm whether another setup is acceptable before entering account information. Check who can debit the account and on which dates before signing an agreement.
Read the account requirementsFind out what needs to change before you apply again. If a lender declined the request, read its notice and ask about any information you believe is inaccurate. For an existing payment, contact the servicer listed on the agreement before the due date and compare repayment options and fees before taking another loan.
Compare a published repayment exampleRead the consent on the form before submitting. The Terms describe direct review and a separate matching route. If another lender presents an offer, check its legal name, privacy notice, payment terms and contact details before accepting.

Compare the same amount
A smaller first payment can still lead to a higher total. Compare offers for the same amount deposited before choosing a schedule.

Read the payment termsReview the direct-route criteria in the FAQ and the disclosures for any lender that receives the request. The direct application reviews other information, including prior loan history. A matched lender can use different criteria.
Submitting the form starts a review. Any offer, amount or deposit depends on the lender’s decision and the remaining agreement and verification steps. See the funding stages.
Read the form disclosures before sharing your information. Review the lender, total cost and payment dates in any offer.
